Which version of Microsoft Office are you running?
I’ll have to check with my company’s IT dept about that. I alo tried to leave out the if-condition, still no result. Here’s what I see in Automator.

For one presentation, do you get errors converting from pptx to ppt? But, when I use this script, Powerpoint displays nothing and the presentation is converted and saved without issue.

Whether or not that will work for you is going to depend on the version of PowerPoint used to create the presentation. I somehow tried applexcript edit the script so that i works with the German version of PP. Does anyone have another script to convert pptx file to ppt in Office ?
