I really liked this book so much that I even acquired a copy, however, after reading it the first time, I felt deceived.

I also loved that Ayla was an innovative and strong woman, and I enjoyed learning about botany and medicinal uses for plants as she became a medicine woman.

With the permission of the Clan leader Brun she takes the young child with her and helps to heal her wounds. I have read at least part of the second in the series, maybe all of it. There is a lot more to it in there, and I found the book fascinating. I stopped reading them after the third book in the series. This series is like taking a step back in time and it feels like you have experienced everything that Ayla goes through right alongside her.

This book was awesome!! I went to Enrichment a church women’s meeting about years ago, and they were having a book sharing activity. She is adopted by Iza who is an incredibly skilled medicine woman and Creb who is the Clan’s Mog-Ur spiritual leader.

El Clan del Oso Cavernario by Jean M. Auel (5 star ratings)

It’s nice to be able to so firmly identify myself as being on a character’s side from the first few chapters in a book. I have no idea why I never found time over the years. I am desperate to know what happens to Ayla I kept hoping cavernatio stand up and say, “No! She is almost a different species than them.

I categorized it as Fantasy and I seemed to never be in the mood for that. This is truly a 5-star rated experience. The story ends, wide open for book two, with Broud, the new clan leader, cursing Ayla to death. This means that she undergoes many things, changes, and events that we do much later in our lives in this day and age. After finishing the book, I sought out interviews with Mrs. I for some reason pictured the Hollywood version of scruffy cave people with shaggy hanging furs and bones in their hair.

I’ll tell those who haven’t read it.

This book is one of a kind. For a writer of historical fiction, a prehistoric setting poses a challenge; technically, the genre embraces any fiction set in the past, but its authors usually depend heavily on written records for events and background material, and for the Ice Age, no such records exist. Here you ep this really advanced girl being raised by a species who are essentially backwards by comparison. I was in the 5th grade. I reread this recently and decided to upgrade it to 5 stars. Hearing that song would remind me that I needed to read the book.

Family lived in caves without wall or rooms and sex was not hidden and was a daily and open reality. She secretly learns to hunt which is strictly forbidden to women. The long descriptions odo come across as dry or boring, but instead leave me with more questions.

But I am Anxiously awaiting book 2 to come in the mail. Men can beat women and be completely justified–this happens to Libto quite a few times in the book. Ayla is without a doubt one of my favorite fictional characters, she suffers so much hardship but she never gives in and she always fights to survive.

Ayla is a Cro-Magnon who is adopted by a group of Neanderthal caevrnario when they find her stranded and abandoned after heavy snowfall and a great Earthquake. This is the book that started me reading Hmmm, I thought I’d proofread this This story was a Wow!

El Clan del Oso Cavernario

I edited this review slightly just now, to delete one accidental dittography. And then it sat. Again, this happens to Ayla quite a bit, in a rather uncomfortable rape montage nothing is too graphic, however. It is definitely appropriate for a teen. It was vibrant and meticulously detailed.
